Biotin
Biotin improves the resiliency and quality of horses’ hoofs (in terms of hardness, integrity, and conformation of the hoof horn) and improves the health of your horse’s skin and hair. Some reports even suggest that structural defects in the stratum externum at the hoof horn can be remedied with biotin alone. However, biotin only works on the coronary part of the hoof, where it is still alive, so it may take several months before you see results.
Chondroitin Sulfate
- Works in the synovial fluid (fluid around knee and other joints) to, 1st Cushion and support & 2nd Attract nutrients.
- Improvement in lameness grade, flexion test, and stride length has been reported in horses with Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD).
- Protects against joint injury.
- Studies have shown that Chondroitin reduces pain and increases overall mobility in humans.
- Chondroitin Sulfate is present in the horses' joints (Natural Supplement).
Copper, Zinc, Manganese
Copper, zinc, and manganese are essential trace minerals that are needed for hundreds of enzymatic processes. Equi-Sential® supplements provide the necessary amounts of these trace minerals, which will keep your horse healthy and perform at their highest potential.

Ester C®
Calcium Ascorbate (Ester C®) is a buffer source of vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that assists in maintaining the integrity of your horses’ immune system. It is used in hundreds of biochemical pathways, including the production of cartilage cells.
Glucosamine HCl
- Protect against joint injury.
- Increases synthetic activity of chondrocytes (may improve cartilage repair).
- Absorbed and used very quickly.
- Regulates several metabolic activities of osteoarthritic chondrocytes, including increase in protein synthesis. Such activity may be helpful in stimulating matrix synthesis – potentially important part of healing.
- Supplies “building blocks” for cartilage.
- Improvement in lameness grade, flexion test, and stride length has been reported in horses with Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD).
- Glucosamine is present in the horse (Natural Supplement).
Magnesium
Magnesium (Mg) is a mineral that is used to protect horses from tetany – hyperactivity of the horse (especially in transported horses); It Has A Calming Effect. Magnesium is also required (as a catalyst) in many enzymatic processes.
MSM
Methyl sulfonyl methane (MSM) is a stable metabolite of dimethlysulfoxide (DMSO; a known anti-inflammatory agent), which has been credited to returning joint health to a “normal” state. Furthermore, MSM restores the sulfur concentration to their proper levels – very important because sulfur is a “building block” for tissues, like cartilage.
Omega 3 Fatty Acids
These products contain flax seed, the best natural source of Omega 3 fatty acids, which will improve the skin and coat quality of your horse. Additionally, Omega 3 fatty acids stimulate your horse’s immune system and are reported to reduce inflammation in joints.
Psyllium Seed Hulls
Psyllium seed hulls are an excellent source of soluble fiber that can eliminate sand impaction of the large colon (eliminates sand from the intestinal tract); Remedies Sand Colic.
Vitamin A
Retinol (Vitamin A) is essential for your horse to maintain normal bone growth, vision, immune system, and reproductive functions.
Vitamin B
This balanced blend of B vitamins provided by Equi-Sential® supplements will help assist in the horses’ production of energy and help in metabolic pathways. Furthermore, it will provide the essential vitamins for a sleek, shinny coat. More details...
Vitamin D
Calciferol (Vitamin D) is used to maintain the calcium (Ca) homeostasis within your horse and assists in the normal growth and development of their bones.
Vitamin E
D-Alpha tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E) functions with selenium in a multi-component antioxidant defense system, which eliminates free radicals that oxidize unsaturated phospholipids and proteins. A deficiency in this vital compound can cause muscle soreness and lameness in your horse. Additionally, Vitamin E protects the polyunsaturated fatty acids (Omega 3 fatty acids) from being oxidized in the stomach.
Yeast
Diamond V® Yeast will improve the horse’s digestion in the hindgut and increases the overall uptake of vitamins and minerals. (Some reports cite up to 8% increased fiber digestion and 20-25% increased phosphorus intake.)

Yucca
Yucca schidigera is primarily used as a treatment of arthritis, joint pain, and inflammation. The active ingredient, saponins, is a precursor of cortisone (a naturally occurring steroid that relieves pain). Additionally, yucca is reported to block the release of toxins from the intestines that inhibits normal cartilage formation.
